Lutech LT-300 SD / LT-300 HD Video Colposcope

Colposcopy is a procedure which is used to look at the surface of the cervix, vagina, vulva and the lower part of the womb allowing a healthcare professional to look for any abnormalities. Colposcopy can often be recommended by a doctor if the Pap (Papanicolaou) test is abnormal.

Colposcope – Technical Overview

Often used during screening it is used to identify genital warts, inflammation oft he cervix (cervicitis) and help to identify precancerous cells in the cervix, vulva or vagina. The colposcope can also be utilised for forensic applications to capture images from rape or female genital mutilation for example.

During the colposcopy the colposcope is positioned a few inches away from the vagina and the light is used to illuminate the area to allow the camera to get a clear photo of the area.
